Fishtrap velcro attachment broke, anybody got ideas?

shinde

Question

One of the velcro straps the fishtrap uses to attach the canvas to the metal poles broke on me (the bottom pole, if it matters). The actual strap is still stitched fine to the canvas, but one side of the velcro straps broke off right near where it's sewn to the canvas.

Anybody else repaired something similar, and how did you do it?

Thanks for the help!

Here's a couple "quick" fixes if since its one of the bottom one and not in the middle of the canvas it should be easy to do. Go to a fabric store or Walmart. and get some velcro. You can either hand sew or possibly machine sew a new one on, or to the piece that is still attached apply the new piece (assuming the hook section is still attached) of the hook section with super glue to the back of the current hook section and then use the other piece to attach to 2 hook sections. We had to do some thing like this to our boat lift canopy because most of the straps broke in a wind storm. Good Luck.

I have a idea if youre like me and dont know how to sew. I burnt a hole in my fishtrap door and i found this stuff at land m supply called tear mender you can add a piece of materialto extend the strap all you have to do is rub it on both sides of the materialand it sets up in minutesit has great strength and you can use it on just about anything i even used it on the knees of my old beat up carharts and its held up great.
