swalleyi
When i use my zoom button, where does the flasher start at. I'll be on the bottom fishing a little jig,hit my zoom and i'll have to hit the up or down arrow for a long time to get it down to the bottom. The little instruction book i got didn't really explain it very good. It seems that when ever i hit the zoom i have to do the same thing every time. Just wondering if someone could explain it better for me. Or is this normal thanks.
beef
The zoom starts at the top of the graph everytime, or at the bottom of the transducer either way. You have two zoom settings. The first time you hit zoom it is a four foot zoom range, then I bieleve the next zoom(hit the zoom button again) range is six feet, not sure about the second zoom range because I never use it.... The neat thing with the marcum is that it allows you to adjust where you want the zoom to be. If your fishing suspended fish then you can zoom into that specific depth area. Hope this helps..... rangr
The zoom feature is designed to start at the top of the water coloum, and when you press the zoom button one time in the 20ft or 40 ft range you will have a 5ft zoom window that is displayed on the left half of the screen. If you press the zoom button a second time you will have a 10ft zoom window which is also displayed on the left side of the screen. The zoom windows change as the range increases like 10ft and 20ft on the 60ft range. But you will have to hold the dwn button on your Marcum every time you press the zoom button to get to the depth you want to zoom in on.
stick
Once you hit zoom, your screen splits (as you know). It does start at the top, but as you adjust it up or down, you get yellow hash-marks on the "full scale" side of the flasher (right 1/2) that show where the zoom is actually reading. I have had my LX3 out 1 weekend, and ended up reading the manual after the first day. It explains this in it (probably much better than I am). I sure do love the Marcum! Cliff Wagenbach
Also when you want to watch the bottom you can fine tune your zoom to read right to the bottom if it is fairly flat. To do this: run your zoom down to the bottom, then drop your jig to the bottom and lift it about 3 inches up. Adjust your zoom range up or down until you can see your jig. This will let you see fish that are belly down to the bottom. I have 2 Marcum LX3's and they both are great flashers! Cliff
