Powerstroke
I was in the Brainerd area last weekend and there was around 20" of ice. We were fine with our standard Strikemaster auger. We powered through till the recoil broke, then I had to hand drill the holes. We were fine. I odn't think you'll need an extension.
Traxxx
You didn't need it last weekend but it would have been nice since there was a good amount of snow. You would drill to just under the motor. If your fishing in perm house, definately. Keep punchin holes to you find em. The work is worth the reward. Good Luck
jimh874
i got a 8 inch extension for last weekends trip, if i had not gotten one i would have had to shovel in certain spots before drilling to get through. with the extension i drilled any place i wanted and never worried about coming up short. better to be safe then sorry. jim
GRUB
no need for a extension unless you are drilling in a wheel house. the fishing is great at hillmans
barebackjack
They only take up a few inches of space so why would anyone risk ruining a perfectly good trip just to save a tiny space
