Truck Campers

Lance, Alpinelite, Bigfoot are 3 of the nicest ones sold locally (Twin cities area) I have a 2001 F-350 4 X 4 diesel dually and a 2002 11" Corsair. They do not sell the Corsair here any more. Is your truck a single or dually? Do you know what the payload is? The reason why I ask is because the camper dealers will tell you anything so you can buy one, and so will allot of the truck salesmen. I have owned 4 different pickup campers and have been using them now for 20 years. The Lance dealer on highway 65 in Blaine is by far and away the most knowledgeable as far as matching your truck and camper ( No, I did not buy from them but I wish I would have) Good Luck and let me know if I can be any help.

Looks good! Assuming that your truck weighs about 7,000 lbs. or so you have about 4,400 lbs. you can put in it. Don't rely on the weight tag on the camper,no matter what it says, add about 1,500 to 2,000lbs. and that will be your true weight. also, make sure you get the right tie downs for it, I have torque lifts on mine and they work very well. A couple other things I have added are, airbags and a Reese Titan class V hitch for pulling a boat. This year I am adding Bilstene shocks. A good HSOforum to go to is, rv.net and go to the truck camper section.

The main question is, how much do you want to spend? I have an older Sportsman 9-foot on my F250HD. The tag stated 1600 pounds and that's what I got at the weigh station. To me, the Sportsman line is a more "affordable" brand than compared to a Lance.

Zarkohl

Pleasureland RV in St.Cloud is by far where i looked at the most truck campers, and hilmerson rv south of little falls on hwy 10 also had a few. that is about the only two places that i have found close to my area.

Have you guys considered fifth wheels? You get WAY more for your money than a camper, plus you can still pull your boat. It really is the best of both worlds. I have one and am soooo glad I went that route.
