0 Surface Tension
Nice, Looks like the auger mount telescopes out and a pin to secure it in position. I take you put the shaft in the mount and the power head sits on the rack.
0 30 inch eyes
the rack is removeable because I use a cover when trailering. the part that the auger sits in pulls out when trailering and when you want to use it slide it in the part thats mounted to the atv rack and pin it in place. It's a modified version of moose-hunters rack.
0 30 inch eyes
the first picture is the power head side with it slid together. the 2nd picture is the same side seperated for trailering with the cover on, and the 3rd picture is the part that stays on the atv rack . I used 1" square tubing with 1/8" wall thickness for the part that mounts on the rack and that holds the auger. I used 3/4 solid square stock for the male ends which slide in the part thats attached to the rack, and quick pins for fast connection. I bolted the male end solid in the part that holds the auger and auger head.I added bungie cords and eye bolts for holding down the auger while driving to and from spots.total cost about $40 with farmed out welding included. All material is aluminum coated with spray plasti-dip.(thanks moose-hunter for the great idea)
0 Dave
That design concept is the same as Arctic Cat's Multi Rack Platform (MRP). Now, design and build some other "attachments" for use at different times of the year. Nice job!
