Aquaman01
Hi,I just became the proud owner of a Vex FL-8se that I purchased for my boat. Can I use the 19* boat transducer in an ice hole? I'm thinking maybe tape a foam ball around the cable to float it. Anybody got any input? Thanks.
0 andy j
no this would not work because the tranducer wouldn't shoot straight down with the highspeed transducer hanging down, It would be well worth the money to buy a iceducer, trust me to much work to try to mount a highspeed ducer for icefishing, it has to be perfect to work and it takes up to much space in the hole. 0 Ed Carlson
I agree, go with a puck Ice-Ducer and things will go much smother. It can be done yet it is a pain to keep things set properly. Once you get a Ice-Ducer you can also use it on a boat as a second ducer, or for use as a portable for a fly-in or a rental boat. And you will not need to remove the boat ducer each ice season, and re-set it again in the spring..another pain.My vote is pick up another puck and set it up on a dangle arm/I-Bolt stop and your all set to go.
