lower unit
I've been looking at the LX3 and was wondering what the difference is between the ice version and the mounted version. Is it the same unit just packaged differently for the ice? Thanks
jiggin pig
the difference could be the transducer. The mounted version probaly has a high speed transducer for trolling on it, where the ice version does not. I hope this helps.
jigginjerk
As far as I know is they are one in the same. I use mine in the summer, just bought the puck ducer for my electric motor and it works great. they have a puck kit that comes with ducer, mount and power hookup so you don't have to tear apart your ice setup. andy j
jig and pig is right, the difference is the transducer, If you are going to use it for both open water and icefishing, buy the icefishing pack and then buy the open water transducer that you need, the highspeed(Transom) or puck style(trolling motor) If you are going to use it for icefishing you need the winter weighted hanging tranducer. mnrstrider
I would expect the winter version to come with a battery and a Digital charger system too, IMHO it's much nicer to buy and ice kit and adapt it to summer fishing, though I find myself only using my flasher when anchored, so I just end up tossing my ice ducer off the side of the boat, no perfect but works 90% as good.
