Lots of places to catch some walleyes around. Try Chetek chain south of RL, Red Cedar and Long north of RL, also Bear can be good. Not a lot, but potential for a big one. In fact, two of us fished last Sunday on Bear and had 4 flags, all fish, and put a 22" and a 9 1/2 lb 29 1/2 " on the ice! ooo.gif Best bet is to check out the local taverns or bait shops for the latest info.

Tuscobia Lake used to be a good panfish lake, but recently there is a feud going on between the landowners, county highway dept and DNR over the water level. It seems that when the road on the south end of the lake was put in in the 50s, they put the culvert in too low, causing the lake to drain too much. Some enterprising lake residents stuck some boards in the culvert and it's been that way until last fall, when the culvert needed replacing. The culvert was replaced at the original lower level and the lake drained down a foot in less than a week! Again, boards were covertly placed in the new culvert, but the DNR found out and now is on a crusade to tear any boards out. This has made over half the lake unusable for fishing, duck hunting, etc. and created swamp frontage out of lake frontage.

As far as the fishing, I haven't heard of anyone trying it this year due to the scenario I've just described.
