Modifying a Fish Trap

I have the older fish trap, with two wood bench seats. I put three oval 12v trailer lights on one of the front bars. They work great for fishing light, not to bright. Never had a problem with bulbs, (still using the originals) and they just fold right up with the house. I use a tractor battery from fleet farm, they last 3-4 years and cost about 20 bucks. My seats are different I'm sure, but I put a piece of pvc tubing underneath my seats to hold my poles. I works very nice, the pole sits ready for grabbing and the tip is right over the hole. I also had a second son 14 years ago to pull it out when we go fishing, tongue.gif okay that aint a modification.

I'm sure you will love it... enjoy.

I bought some plastic rain gutter and mounted it along the sides and back of my Trap - makes great holders for fishing rods, gloves, propane tanks, etc. Just a note if anyone wants to go this route, the deeper rain gutter works better at holding rods/reels than the wider, shallower rain gutter.

I don't know if your interested or not, but every year I hit goodwill and pick up a good pair of downhill skis that I take the bindings off of and cut to size and mount to the bottom of both of my sleds. It works great and only costs me about $3 a pair.
