Best auger for the money

My wife has given me "permission" to buy an auger. I am on a tight budget, but still want something that is reliable. I am looking for a 2hp, 8". What are your opinions on the best one for the money?

Used. Just picked up a very nice 2 horse, 8" lazer for 150.

IMHO... Go with a 2hp, Strikemaster, 8". I NEVER a lick of trouble with mine, until it "jumped" out of my neighbor's truck. Started, ran and drilled very well in "fresh" ice and re-opened holes in a flash. Nice and light weight and great on gas. Since the "jumping" incident, my neighbor helped me upgrade to a 9", 3 blade, Ultra. And life only got better.

New or used there are good deals to be had. All it takes is a bit of searching...
