Disposal of Vex Battery

Does Gander or any of the sport stores take the old dead battery back for disposal. If not how does one dispose of the battery?

Any Batteries Plus store will take old batteries for recycling. Don't throw it in the trash...

I'll have to swing by a battery plus store sometime this week and drop it off, maybe pick up a new one while I am there. I need a back-up.
