Aqua Vu Scout

anchor man

Question

I'm interested in using my X-mas gift cards and purchasing the Scout. I have read a couple other posts and it sounds like a good unit for the money. The main reason would plan to use it is to check out bottom structure to locate potentially better fishing spots. Has anyone been using this model through the ice much this year or had any good/bad experiences with them so far?

Thanks for any info.

I use a different Aqua-Vu model, the SV, love it.

This much I can tell you. We have sold a ton of the Scouts where I work and I have yet to see even 1 Aqua-Vu Scout come back for any reason.

The customer feedback on the Scout has been very positive. My call is it is a very good package at a great price.

I just bought the Scout yesterday. I took it out on a local lake for a test run. So far I am happy with the picture quality and how easy it is to run. The biggest complaint I have is with the camera positioning. It is a bugger to get to stay right where you want it. I went out today and bought a tripod made to hold the camera cord. I am going to give it a try tomorrow. The local lake I tried is slightly stained right now, but it still was able to see quite a ways. I did get to see 2 fish with it that were hugging the weeds.

Gave the Scout an all day workout today. I am not thrilled with the battery life, it didn't last all day frown.gif I am also not sure if I really want to see all that I saw today tongue.gif. It makes fishing very frustrating when you can actually see them race to the jig only to stare at it and then move away. With the vex, you could always just assume they were dinks and not give it a second thought grin.gif But, I did get to watch a big northern smile for the camera, his face was right in the camera, simply awesome. He or another kept parading around in front of the cam for 20 minutes or so. They are cool looking underwater, but I hate them anywhere near my line mad.gif. It sure is a fun tool.
