jegerjack
What is the average amount or years between when fingerling eye's are stocked and when they are mature, by that I mean being caught in large numbers? I thought it was a 3 or 4 year period? How much does this vary with other spices? Thanks, JegerJack.
Chris Haley
Mature and being caught in large numbers are not the same. Walleyes under the right conditions can grow 8-9 inches in the first year. You could actually be catching them the in the first winter or next spring in large numbers. Crappies can grow 3-4 inches in their first year with the right conditions. Males and females mature at different ages also.
