Floatation Devices

Question

After watching the post on Falling through the Ice:

http://www.fishingminnesota.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=457381&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

Has anyone consider using any type of Floatation. The last thing I want to do is carry anything more or be more bulky, but given the thought it could help you survive, It begs consideration...

Any thoughts, Ideas....

The first few times out every year I wear my life jacket. I usually am fishing on a small lake by Walker that freezes early but it's no major hardship to put it over my jacket. If you think about it it's pretty amazing that we don't wear some type of floatation

I have and use a Mustang survival (classic) jacket for any time I'm fishing and the potential for survival in the water is limited due to cold weather. Basically early spring, late fall and early ice this jacket is on my back and it's a comfy and warm jacket. Check out their site. Spending money on life saving equipment is a good investment.
