Changing trolling motor shaft

I need to change the shaft on my trolling motor. It is a Motorguide transom mount energy series.

How hard is this to do and where do I get diagrams. The Motorguide site has little information.

My experience with the energy motors required changing the shaft also..

In all honesty I will strongly recommend taking it to a shop. I did more damage than I did good when trying to change it myself.. I couldnt find diagrams either. I had Motor Clinic in Bloomington do mine in the end and I got it back the next day. The repair will cost less than the shaft.(Very reasonable)

I like to try new things and sometimes I get into spots I wish I hadn't. I would like to see what needs to be done before I decide to do it or take it in.
