Kylersk
What do you do when fishing alone, or with others, when it comes to setting up a 2nd line in your portable? Rattle reel? Rod holder? something else? Also, where do you typically drill your second hole?
Duffer
i would use a rod holder they got some new deals that will sit on the ice. placement is a personal prefrence and depends on how your portable is layed out.
hanson
I drill my holes about 2-1/2 feet apart so I can see them both easily and both my rods are close at hand. I always have one rod in my rod holder and the other I'm either jigging or messing with. When I didn't have a rod holder, I just kept one eye on the other rod at all times. I haven't lost a rod down the hole yet. Sometimes when the action is soooo fast, you can only handle one rod and I'll let the conditions dictate that. iowaboy
Depends on how big the portable is. I fish out of a XL Twin and I always drill three holes. The outside two holes I fish in and the center hole I use for my flasher transducer. I'm usually jigging on rod while dead sticking a minnow on the other. I use a Mr. Jigger with my deadstick rod. CrappieJohn
If you click on the "FM sponsors" you will be able to check out a couple of new products available this year that are designed to free up your hands. The dead sticking revolution is here and these products are just what one needs to provide that absolute "still" presentation.
