Kylersk
I hung mine from the top pole in my portable, to test, but it was too close to the top and the aluminum pole got too hot to touch. I also smacked my head on it..I'm thinking maybe lowering it with a hanger or something?Any other ideas?
hanson
I just keep it simple and set it on the ice between my 2 holes in my Otter Den. In my one man house, I'll have an 11lb propane tank w/ sunflower head, lantern, and Marcum all sitting on the ice. I still find enough room to maneuver. Seams to work for me. BigDaddy
I have a distribution post on my 11 lb tank. I run the heater at the bottom and have the lantern on top of the post. This setup has a very small footprint.
Minnetonka
When I am fising in my two man portable, I have the heater in the far corner(away from the door) facing at an angle towards where I am sitting. I have one hole in in front of me and the vex behind that hole. I place the lantern on the ice between the hole I am jigging in and and the hole that I have my dead stick in. If someone joins me, I have the heater in-between us with the tank against the sled and the face of the heater facing towards the front door. I use an 11 pound cylinder for the propane and set it in a milk crate. It is a perfect fit and I can toss in a wrench with it.
PerchJerker
I try not to use my lantern in my one-man fish trap, just because there's not much room and I don't want to burn the house or my fishing line. I have a headlamp with 3 white LEDs and one red LED, and that's what I prefer to use for light. But when I do use my propane lantern, I do one of two things with it. One is slide my house forward so I'm closer to the holes, and put the lantern right between the holes and as far away from me as I can without burning the house. The other place I put it is between my left leg and the side of the house.
