Blaine
I just got done assembling my new XLTwin this morning I CAN'T BELIEVE how much room it has!!! My one concern I had was the number of pin holes in the stitching along the seams... When you sit inside with the windows blacked out, it's like looking at the stars on a clear night Is this normal? Regardless, I love it and can't wait to use it

30 inch eyes
I have a triplex and it's the same thing, they might come together some with use. You won't be sorry with your purchase.

Blaine
Thanks for all the advice, D I'm glad I went with the XLTwin. I am blown away at all the room in it. It's tough buying something that expensive without ever seeing one firsthand, I sure wish there were dealers in my area. The shipping alone was $
Mr.Seaguar
You should fish from a Triplex. Its like having a living room on the ice. yeah theres pinholes in my Frabill too. Got it last year and the guy we bought ours from said his had the same thing when he got it 2 years before.
dougger222
I picked up an XLTwin 4 seasons ago in the bargain cave at Cabelas for $250 with just a couple small burns near the zipper. It's traveled at least 100 miles and the sled part is holding up ok but the fabric is tore in a few spots near the bottom due to dragging while towing. It's a much larger and nicer unit in my opinion compared to the two man Clams out at the time of purchase. The Frabil sits up higher and has a back rest on the seat and is larger than the Clam. The best thing I found for the floor is to get a one foot by two foot section of 2 inch pink foam board to stand on. A couple pieces will last me all winter. Put the Clam light system in too the other day. Plan to use a deep cycle marine battery when the ATV is used to pull the unit, the light should last for days!!!
jphersh22
Has anyone looked into or tried replacing the old becnh seat in an XLTwin with the new individual chair styles that Frabill offers? I know you can buy them but was wondering how easy they are to swap into the sled?
Deitz Dittrich
jphersh22-I'm not so sure it would work.. there is a track molded into the bottom of the sled that the seat post slides in.. The older sleds dont have this molded track so the seat posts wouldn't have the support needed... HOWEVER There is an alternative. I bought a couple of boat seats at a garadge sale. Remove the bench and you should have 2 angle iron supports that they bench sat on. I then just fastened the 2 swivel boat seats to those piece of angle iron. roadkingclasic56
You made a good purchase in your XLTwin. I have had one for 3 years now. It has worked very well. I have not had any troubles with the seams. My house has been out in some monster winds and held up just fine. One thing you need to be careful of is making sure the tent fabric is clear of the hinge point when you fold the house down. Uless they have changed it, the rods can pinch the tent where the rods are connected to the hinge point on the sled. It will pinch little pin holes in the fabric. I have learned this the hard way. Other than that it has been a great house.
