Dan DAN the fisherman
I'm hoping to get up to Granby this Saturday to prefish the tourny. Chewy, are you going to be up there this weekend? Let me know, so we can try to hook up. I'll probably launch out of the Sunset Point Boat Ramp area. Let me know whats up. Dan
ICEMASTER1940
Hey Dan - I'll be fishing Granby Friday and Saturday of this week. I'll be looking for that Harley On Ice of your's. I want to thank you for the hospitality that you extended me at Williams Fork several weeks ago. If you hadn't given me a ride on your Harley I would still be walking. <'((<

John19
Fished Granby on Monday, caught 10 in four hours(8-12). Fish came in spurts. Nothing for the 1st 45min, then "Bam" couldn't really fish 2 rods there was so much action for an hour. Then it stopped for another 45min or so. Then "Bam" another feeding frenzy . It really was kindof weird. One other note: I really can't believe the amount of trash left on the ice. Come on guys, it's really not to hard to pick up after ourselves. And if you smoke, please don't leave all your butts on the ice .
lucky7
John:I agree! I have been several places this year and had to clean up after others. The other thing is watch your hole size! I was at Clear Creek res. on Sunday and someone made a hole that an NFL offensive linemen could fall through let alone my two kids I had out there. A little courtesy goes a long way. Dan DAN the fisherman
John, Anything over 20"? Where did you fish? Dan
John19
Nope, 19.5in. was the biggest. I fished off the 1st area you can park off of, past the dam. There's a little road coming down the hill from the right, kindof where we parked. Not to bad of a walk down the hill. Caught fish equally on white tube jigs, and a green & Chart. airplane jig. tipped with sucker meat. There's alittle point that sticks out, I fished off of. Water was pretty deep, even close in. fished mainly in 60ft. of water, most fish were hanging about 5 ft. off the bottom. Didn't get anything right on the bottom, which surprised me. Chewy
Dan, I do have a GPS but I know the lake so well that if you let me know approx. where you'll be I think I can find you, especially since you may be the only person on the lake with a motorcycle pulling a sled. Not hard to spot. I'll look for you.
Chewy
Thanks Lucky. You're right I don't think I've seen more than one other motorcycle on the lake during ice fishing season and that was probably Dan. Dan- do yo have some kind of sidecar configuration for stability? Dan DAN the fisherman
Chewy, Depending on how deep the snow is. I'll be starting on the flat to the east of Elephant. Do you no how much snow is on the lake? Don't no if the Rokon will make it, if the snow is too deep. Any big slush pockets to look out for? No side car. Just got to put the feet down occasionally. John19
Dan, there was anywhere's from 6 to 10 inches of the stuff in the untouched areas, but there were quite afew paths beaten into the snow. Don't know if there are any where you want to go though.

Chewy
Dan,I fished the flats just south of Elephant island last Sunday. I'll assume your going to park at Stillwater. There are lots of slush pockets around the lake. They are pretty visable because you'll see the the ice ruts left by thoses that forged through them. There is about 6-8 inchs of snow on the lake. However there are quite a few beaten paths as well. I think you'll be fine just take it real slow as you approach a slushy area and try and skirt around it. I fished in 40 foot of water (south of Elephant) and caught one fish. I fished Saturday near dike three and hooked and lost a mack that appeared to be in the 35 to 39 inch range. It's the first big fish I've lost and be broke off at the hole as I was trying to land him.. Usually after a long fight almost 15 minutes they're pretty tired and ready to come up the hole. It took four tries to get him to start to nose up the hole. His nose caught on the bottom edge of the hole so I reached down to push him away and he took off like a rocket and broke the line. He gave me a great fight and I wasn't going to keep him anyway. I would have liked to have had a picture. Oh well, great catch and release. Who knows maybe someone will catch him during the contest. I'll look for you Frtiday morning Dan. Good luck to everyone at the contest next week.

Dan DAN the fisherman
Fished Granby on Sunday. Very slow. Fished east of Deer Island, on the flat. Caught 2 there, 19" ers. Went over near Dike 3, in front of the structure and caught 1- 21"er. Didn't look like anyone else was doing well either. Must have been the Moon. Well, I hope that I can find them on Friday.
