hanson
I had a good friend of mine take it once. Him and some guys from work were doing the entire thing as a vacation and whoop-it-up good time. They did have a fun time but the fishing was not very good when they were out there. It warmed up and it got to the point where the guides wouldn't take them out on the lake due to ice conditions. They ended up fishing a few smaller lakes around DL and got into some good tip-up fishing for Pike. His biggest complaint was how long the train ride took. They could have done it quicker driving out there and then hiring the same guides. I believe they arrived in Devils Lake in the morning (after a long night of beer swilling on the train) and then proceeded to go out fishing that morning. He said the first day was definitly a long, painful day.Other than that, I believe they had a great time. The painful part of the trip was self-inflicted by them so that was their fault.
