Knotwood
I see cable tie straps holding the reels in place, I've used hockey tape, too. What else works good, and if you have to switch out there, just carry a few spare tie wraps???
Walleye Guy
Good electrical tape does the trick for me. Get the stuff that has some give like Scotch (3M)number 33. It comes off easy in the spring if you put the reel on a summer fishing rod.
brava-pesca
The best I have found is silicone Fusion Tape. It can be found at Menards's. It leaves no sticky mess like electrical tape does. Look for it near the electrical tape.
hanson
I'm not a fan of the tie wraps at all. Ditch them and tape the reel on. I just use regular old electrical tape.I guess if you had to change reels, cutting the tape off and taping on a new one seems easier to me than cutting the tie wraps. Jeremy airjer W
Brava, That silicone fusion tape is pretty slick! I have always had problems with my fireline slipping on the spool and I figured I would give it a try as a backing. It worked great!!! All my reals are backed with it know. No sticky mess to worry about. In fact I probably spent a half an our just playing with the stuff, its really neat. THANKS FOR THE GREAT TIP!!
