SYNTHETIC 870

I've been told that a Remington 870 synthetic
stock can not be shortened. I need about an inch taken off the stock. Does anybody have any insight for me. Thanks

I don't think it is possible on a synthetic. When you take the recoil pad off you will find that the stock is hollow. There are two molded in sections that the recoil pad screws into and if you cut the stock down, you would loose those sections and have nothing to screw the pad into. You may be better off looking to see if an after market company makes a shorter stock and go that way. Good luck..

Either Bass Pro or Cabelas handles youth stocks that will fit your 870. They are an inch shorter give or take.
