spooling up reels

just wondering how long a guy needs to wait to spool up his reels before getting out on the ice? or do you even need to wait?

You should be fine spooling up now. We'll be fishing soon ...hopefully within the next couple weeks. If you want to wait another week or so thats fine too. I usually spool the week before Thanksgiving, unless we get some real early ice and I'm "forced" ( ) to spool early...
