question for mike walerak

Mike I wanted to ask you about any fishing reports. I notice that you post a lot of information and talk to many people. Are the fish biting anywhere? I would like to head out tom. and maybe check out thompson or sinia. Please let me know if you have heard of anything going on.

thank you!

I'm not Mike, but the bait shop in Lake Preston has a HSOforum that gives updated reports for Thompson. Report was a few baots, but not much action for walleye. The report was 11/15.

I fished at Waubay 2 weekends ago. Walleyes are biting there and you can also get your limit of perch if you anchor and wait for schools to come through.

As a rule of thumb, Thompson always has fish biting. I have'nt made it out there this fall. The only thing I have been hearing is the fish you do catch are big out there right now. But that lake has it moods. It seems like one day you can only catch bigones the next day go out and only catch dinks and get skunked on the third day.

I have fished Sinai a little at night off shore latley and can usually pick up a limet in a few hours. Jigs and minnows have been the bait of choice. It has been too windy to get my duck boat out there when I have had the chance.

I will definatly be out this weekend for what could be the last hurrah for open water fishing.

Mr Fey: Thompson has been pretty slow lately. Very few caught over the weekend, even from the boats. Hottest lakes around here are Vermillion, Scott's Slough, Madison, and as Mike mentioned - Sinai. Vermillion has been producing nice 'eyes lately. Pulling plugs has been the best presentation in the boat and from shore, jig & a minnow or throwing a rap after sunset. Good luck and let me know how you do. Todd

Just got back from Siai, A little slow but they were there right at sunset. Missed quite few bites only to notice an extremly bent point on the jig hook mad.gif. Once the jig was changed, wahla a 21" and a dink came in the boat within 5 minutes grin.gif. Had another bite and had to get back. Can't wait to get out again. The fish semed to show a preferace to dark colors tonight. Purples and blacks seemed to be the ticket. Good luck.

If any one sees a 16' green boat with 9.5 evinrude swing over and say hi. I will be out quite a bit this weekend if the wind stays down.
