Gears slipping in baitcaster?

Lost

Question

The last couple of times that I went out fishing with my baitcaster it appeared that the gears (???) were slipping at the end of reeling in. As long as I was reeling everything worked well but as soon as I was done, the line would slip out a foot or so with just the weight of the lure.

Does anybody know what's going on?

lost. i would take to some one to have it checked. it could be the anti reverse too. if it is a newer reel you may be able to send it back to the company. you may want to try e-mailing the company to see what they have to say too. del

Thanks Del. It's a Shimano but I can't find my receipt or the box it came in right now. Somewhere in the shed that my significant other has rearranged on me a couple of times.
