Ladder stand for big guys

I weigh almost 300 lbs. with all of my equipment (most of it is me). I don't want to get a short 2-person stand, but I am worried about the 300 lb. limit on most tree stands. Any suggestions/brands to avoid? Is anyone else in this situation, and how do you deal with it? Any mistakes/accidents?

I hear ya. I go 335 buck nekkid. I've only used permament stands.

I'm sure that most stands on the market will hold a lot more than 300. They only test and insure to 300 because it costs them less than doing say 350 and covers 99% of the population.

I was in Gander in Forest Lake the other day, and they have 16ft two man stands that are rated up to 500 lbs. for around 200 bucks. Looked pretty decent.

Ya Sacho has it right a friend of mine bought one and I helped him install it. We both sat in it combined weight 420# seemed very sturdy yet
