Tilt/Trim Problem

Had a couple of o-rings blow out on the trim when this happened it also blew out 3 of the 5 studs that holds the housing on the trim. Replaced the above and filled pump with fluid. Now it takes a few minutes for the trim to work and the tilt doesn't work at all. Any ideas?

sounds like you may have air in the lines. I would guess if you have manual it will show you how to bleed the lines to relieve it.

I agree sounds like air in the system. Is this on an I/O or outboard?

It's an Outboard, US Marine 125. I don't have a manual. Thought it might be air in the line. Best way to bleed?

Try a search or post on iboats dot com. Some real knowledgable boat folks on that site. Someone there may just have the info on the top of his/her head.

First check to see if the release valve knob is closed.

Retract the trim cylinder all the way in. Remove the fill screw and fill the reservoir. Now extend the cylinder all the way out and then back in again. Fill the reservoir again.

Replace the fill screw.
