Wabigoon and Dinworic Lakes

Recommended Posts

Wabigoon/Dinorwic are lots of fun. If you haven't been there before, the water is very dark with clay stain. Visibility is usually in inches. So you can usually find some fish very shallow--like a couple feet. The weed line is also shallow and usually quite thin. However, we usually fish the walleyes on the humps (and there are lots of them), in 12-25 feet. Jig and leech, crawler, minnow all work well as do rigs. Spinner rigs work very well also. Toss crankbaits on top of reefs and along the weedlines. Most species in the lakes there grow seriously fat, including the smallmouth. You should have fun.
Good luck
