LOTW First Trip ever

Got back from Nestor Falls this weekend from my first ever trip to Lake of the Woods.
Here's what I found...

We initially struggled on walleyes, but after getting help from some of the "regulars" our luck changed quite a bit. A sliding bottom bouncer rig was the most effective presentation I saw, although some guys used leadheads with no problems whatsoever. The leech bite was the best, although the quality of the leeches seems to be getting worse. Biggest fish boated was 23", no one in camp landed any big fish either,
As for Musky....Boated 6 fish for the week, the largest being 43". Most of the action came in bunches. The fish seemed to be out of the weedbeds, only small patches of weeds conected to other structure held fish. "Smallmouth rubble" was where I found most of my fish..
Northerns...where are they?? We really struggled here, although we did land a 35" and a 38". We only caught about 15 for the week. I don't know where they were??? Not in the weeds, not on the shorelines, maybe they went deep.
Lots of bass boated, mostly in the 2 pound range..
Overall a good trip, although at times the bright sun and lack of wind slowed things down. It is a little different then other parts of Canada I have been to, but I think I liked enough to make some more trips and learn the lake.
