Anybody ever fish GSL for pike? I buddy and I are thinking about going for a week next august. We plan on driving up and camping.

Have been through Yellowknife a number of times but never fished GSL itself for pike. I know they fish the bays and I know they get some big pike from the Mackenzie River system - especially in the spring, figure mid to late June. You could try contacting Wolverine sporting goods in Yellowknife, that's the local sports shop.

I have doing as much reseach on the internet as I can. The few articles I have found on pike fishing seem to key on the river mouths, like you said. There are outfitters on the lake but it costs around $2,500 for a week. We are planning on taking a 17'lund with a 60 hp 4 sroke and camping.
