Who's going where this weekend?

Recommended Posts

I'm torn between fighting traffic back to denver on I-70 this weekend or heading to south park to try 11-mile. I'm thinking Wolford might be worth it or Green Mountain on Sunday. What you guys think would be the best bet for catching fish?

Where are you heading this weekend?

I don't know about fishing Green mountain on Sunday....due to the fact that they will be having a tournament there on saturday, and usaully the fish will shut down after all the snowmobile and atv trafic, but Saturday should be a good day, to fish green mountain especially if you get there for the morning bite, before 0800 or so.

I'm looking for a place to take a first timer where she is sure to catch some fish on Monday the 19th- MLK day. I was planning on Douglas but I'm afraid all of this warm weather may do in the Front Range ice by next Monday. What do you all think? Where else would you think about taking a brand new ice fisherwoman?

Don:

This might be too late for you, but there's still plenty of ice up here in the Fort Collins area. No problem on Douglas. Best bite there is still a.m. Try the west side off the treed point.

If you want to take her somewhere where she'll catch a whole bunch of fish, East Delaney and South Delaney are both red hot right now. I couldn't get two jigs in the water on Saturday, even during mid-day. Try something small and flourescent - hot pink or chartreuse, fished very slow (mostly dead-sticking) about 14-15' deep over 18-19' of water. Nothing bigger than 19", but lots of action.

The guys fishing in shallower weren't catching much at all, nor were they seeing any fish. I kept wondering why they didn't move.....? Duh...

All,

I am still looking to scout out some new areas. I heard you mention East Delaney? How do you get there?

I am looking for a great place that is nearby Colorado Springs BESIDES 11 Mile. I can't go back there until the report changes.

Don't worry, I am a catch and release guy, so I will throw them ALL back.

Thanks!
