Lake John 12-26 through 12-28

Fished John on Friday and Saturday. It was very slow for John! My 8 year old son did get a nice one though. He caught a nice fat 22" Bow. I'm guessing 4.5 to 5lbs. Probably caught 20 fish between 4 of us in those 2 days. Ice was 12" and there were some trucks on the ice in close. 1.5" orange glow tube with orange sparkle P.B. took most of the fish including the big one.

That report sounds like the typical report I've heard from John all year, although the one fish sounds like a real Bute! I am going to John on Wednesday, 31st. What part of the lake did you fish & how deep of water?We are planning on starting on the south end in about 8-12ft,I always seem to do well over there. I usually have good luck with a pink & white Tube, the same size. Did you put Power bait on the Tube Jig?? I've never done that before, but if it works!!

We fished on the south end but out towards the middle on a ridge line that I have marked on my GPS. The ridge is 15-18ft deep, coming up from 22' of water. Yes we tipped our tubes with P.B. Good luck and please report back.
