I am ready for ice fishing !!!!Is there anybody else?? I am guessing that Lake john will be first to ice up this year. Where do you think will be first???

Yep, John and the Delaneys are usually first to cap...Im definately looking forward to some colder weather

I cant see north park freezing more than a couple days sooner than 11-mile.I'm historically one of the first on 11-mile and the early fishing is insane.Cant wait!!

11 mile should be a great choice. Lake John has really been fishing slow this year, so It'll be interesting to see how it does this ice season! I can't wait!!!!!!

Slayerfish- is 11 Mile still low? I was up there at no-name this spring when it was way down and that was it. Salmon fishing was awesome!!!

Dont forget to observe a moment of silence for Antero again this winter...

Your all wrong, Grand Mesa lakes are the first to harden up every year! And the fish are native not a bunch of fish chow stockers.

Yea BRY-its still low but only around 10 ft instead of 20 like in spring.I really loved the early ice on Antero.Cowdrey is a real sleeper,its loaded with 15-20 inchers(mostly bows).I was there over Labor day and hammered em on brown twisters.Theyve probably grown about an inch or two since!I'm goin!

Jefferson is a beautiful place but I never thought much of the fishing.Usually small bobo's but I caught some tiny brookies once that were spawning.

Hate to tell you but the fish at Grand Mesa lakes are mostly stockers. Only the Splake,
Brooks, and cutthroats are not stocked. All rainbows are stocked.I have had a cabin up there for 40 years.

I am not much of a gambler but I know that usually I have to drive a bit from the front range to ice fish. I can't wait for somewhere to freeze safely! Come on sub-freezing temps!!!!
