Fresh Rub Already

Last night I went out and put up a stand and afterward I was walking along doing some scouting and already found a fresh rub on two small saplings about 1/2" in dia. The two saplings were just shredded. I'm guessing he may have been trying to get rid some velvet left yet, but man were these ripped up!! I've seen some small one's in the past in late september , but not like this and this early for this time of year.

Not uncommon for this time of year. They are rubbing already. I've witnessed it also.

Those are what I call velvet rubs. They're rubbing off their velvet.
