Bear sighting

I was fourwheeling this last week at my cabin.(south of longville) when about 200 yards away I saw something black walking down the middle of the gravel road. Thinking it was just a dog i kept going not thinking much about it. As I got closer I clearly realiezed that it was a bear. so i drove close real slow and it stopped and just looked at me. I got about 15-20 yards away and stopped and watched him for awhile. after about 2 minutes he/she finally ran off into the woods. I was surpraised at how it wouldn't run away as I was so close to it. Wondering if it had cubs near by that it was standing its ground? I thought it was a neat experience. Unfortunatly I didn't have a camrea with as this would have made the perfect picture. I've only seen about 5 other bears cross the roads up there before this so it's not something I see up there every day

The week before this my parents were up there and saw two bears in a meadow just down the road from here.

That is a cool experience.I rifle hunt just south of longville on the P.O.W road and have seen bear up by the river the last few years in a row..good to see the population is gettin better up there
