Do you care to share what part of the Mississippi you were fishing? I'd like to try the Hastings area of the river in the next week or so.

I've never fished there before. Were you at a warm water discharge or just fishing the main channel of the river?

Warm water dicharge at fort snelling? Can't say that i've ever seen it. Yes i was fishing from shore.

I took the family to Mill Ruins Park (on the Mississippi) in downtown Minneapolis yesterday evening for an after dinner stroll. The carp are in there really thick. We saw them everywhere! We were down there around 7:30pm, couldn't tell you if they were in there like that all day, but I don't see why they wouldn't have been. Besides carp, this area is a good spot for multi-species angling. We've caught plenty of catfish, crappies, smallies, and the occasional walleye down there. Might try for carp and cats on saturday morning after I get off of work.
