Clear Lake / IGLS IOWA ICE CONDITIONS

The ice thickness have really started to take off. This cold weather has put on 3 plus inches over the last 4 days. We are starting to take ATVS and Snowmobiles out in most areas. Please make sure you know where your going before driving all over. Clear Lake and the IGLS have channels and pinch points that cause thin spots. Clear Lake also has a aerator system that creates thin ice. The bite has been good to top it off.

This weekend is the 3rd Annual Yellow Bass Bonanza. The snow isn't to bad. My guess is by Sunday the snow will be pretty matted down. There is a lot of fish in the little lake and the best word of advice is to keep moving until you find some fish. Good Luck this weekend FishingDude.

I was out on Clear today for the 1st time since the tournament and the bite continues to be good. We found some nice fish in the little lake. From the sounds of things the Walleye are starting to pick up out on the big lake also. Work the reefs or pump house area for best results. Try Spoons tipped with a minnow head or a slip bobber and a minnow. The ice is just over 20 inches and still growing strong. We should be fishing into march pretty easy.
