duck hunting

Any reports of how the duck hunting is going in South Dakota? We have been out twice and it seems a little slow so far. Interested on how its going for everybody else.

Went out today. I got 3 ducks and a goose. Lots of Mallards around. Couldn't get them to decoy very good.

I was hunting near Lake Ponisett.

My time has just started to free up a bit and I am now making it out quite a bit. Right now there is an abundance of pintails and hen mallards in the area I am hunting. Have ben getting a few ducks everytime out and only had 1 limet. All in all I'd say average year, with all the flooded fields it has really scattered the birds.

We've shot a few here and there, but no huge success. Like MW said, there is a lot more water this year for the ducks to spread out on. This weather is obviously getting us too! One shot and the mallards are in the stratosphere.

Just noticed this morning some new birds are starting to trickle into the area. More mallards this week than there was last week. This is no push by any means, but it should oly get better from here on out
