muskie hunter
I looked at the exhibitors list, and is clam/ Ice team really not coming?
Steve@CLAM
Hi Muskie Hunter. Correct, we will not be participating in the Wausau Ice Show. That same weekend we will be at the local Gander Mountain supporting their weekend Ice Event and sale. Be sure to stop by for a ton of great deals, seminars, and prizes! muskie hunter
Any ideas on seminars.
UKCM
Wow. Must be nice that both Clam and Gander Mountain have enough business that they can afford to not attend an event full of potential customers.
muskie hunter
Looking at the list of vendors of the Wisconsin Ice fishing show there are no good vendors other than jiffy ice drills, and beaver dam man this show fell apart! Also there are no great seminars all just little pros or even people that are not even pro staffers. Compared to last year we had seminars like Jeff Anderson, and Jim Hudson to name a few. Its sad because it had great deals I got my jason mitchell thermal X for 700 dollars with hitch, runners, cover, and ice shack last year. Matter of fact I think it might of fell apart because it had such great deals and good equipment was so cheap. Maybe it will come back next year or the gander mt show will be just as good. Except it does make me wonder why clam or any big brands would miss this because for one it gave good buisness, and sold a lot of stuff. And the gander mt and the place where they host the Wisconsin Ice Fishing Show known as the patriot center is across the street from gander Mt and in My opinion where they host the Wisconsin Ice Fishing show has so much more space than gander ever will, and is a nicer place to hold a ice fishing show. Brad B
What Steve is talking about with the Gander deal is the yearly First Ice Expo that the Forest Lake Gander hosts. I believe this will be the 3rd year for this event. I went the first year and didn't get a chance to make it last year but am hoping to make it this year. This won't be at all Ganders unless they changed that this year but I haven't heard anything that would suggest this.
Steve@CLAM
Brad, actually Gander did add a First Ice Expo at the Wausau store on the same weekend as the Patriot Center Ice Show. They will have seminar speakers from Ice Team and others (seminar schedule coming soon), great deals, drawings, giveaways and more. Muskie Hunter, I certainly appreciate your enthusiasm for the sport of ice fishing! We are always looking for ways to connect to our customers. We have over 60 Pro Staff participating in over 200 in-store events this year. All great guys and ladies who will answer any question you have about ice fishing, regardless of the product you own or buy. As for the shows, we do our best to participate in as many shows as we can. Some make better sense for us than others for a variety of reasons. For this year, we felt Gander Wausau was a great way to work with an excellent retail partner and still provide opportunity for the Wausau area to interact with our pro staff and get great deals. Brad B
that's cool that they added the First Ice Expo to the Wausau store. the one at Forest Lake is a good event and the Wausau one should be too.
