Chris Granrud
I bought a Hero 3 Black and I can't wait to use it this winter. How many of you have one and do you have any tips? I have the Go Pro silver and am currently learning how to use everything and edit clips. Lord knows I need to add a film editor to my list after personal guide secretary!! LOL!! Congrats Kevin! Myrt
Hey Kevan, My tip is for you to learn how to run yours and then slip over to the Lakes and teach me how to run the one I just got...that would be perfect. Just started to play a little...battery life doesn't seem long, probably want battery pack and extra like Esox said...should be a great tool for you. Smartphone app. makes user friendly also. Looks like you're off to a great summer...see ya when you slip over!

LMITOUT
I bought a Hero 3 Black and I can't wait to use it this winter. How many of you have one and do you have any tips? This is a good thread with lots of info and tips: GoPro I haven't used mine ice fishing yet, just hunting. With the handlebar seatpost mount that GoPro offers it should attach to the poles of most flip overs pretty easily. I use that mount on the rails of my boat. The other option would be to buy the tripod mount from GoPro and then you can make your own. Towards the end of that thread I posted above you can see the one I made with a simple hardware clamp. That would be easier and quicker to position where you want it and aren't just limited to latching onto the sled poles.

Scott M
I've played around with my hero 2 for half a year now. I'm still learning things each time I use it. Got some cool shots and missed some opportunities, it comes with the territory. Have fun!
Tim Moore
Kevan, I have a Hero 3 and I use the Iphone app with it. I can remotely operate the camera and it has a viewer so I can line up my shots.

Cyberfish
Kevan, you can get really creative with pics and videos, even under the ice. here is one I made by just putting a mount on a pole and hanging it in another hole next to mine tilted up, to give a fish eye view of my ice angling... Jim Kusuda
Hey Kevan, Michael's vid reminded me of sections from the Monster Minnesota Crappies video. I watched it again to see how the professionals do it. Remembering my last fishing trip with Jim Hudson, I used to have him show up during the summer to visit his in-laws as his wife Hannah is from around here. live4chrome1529315465
Those go pros are awesome. Bought one for my move to Alaska for the summer and got lots of good fishing footage, as well as a close encounter with a bear.they are pretty tough, I know guys who have used them to take some pretty scary combat footage in afghanistan
