Tony Mariotti
Had the "community hole" to myself this evening, but the fish weren't roaming the hole. Had to drill towards the weeds to find fish, but once I found 12 ft. of water with weeds the fish were stacked! It's the first night in weeks that the slush has firmed up enough to allow the 1/2 mile search to not be miserable. The crappies are apparently starting their progression towards their spawning grounds. The fish disappeared at dark, so I am guessing they are still roaming the basins at dark/dusk to eat, however daytime crappies are always fun and if you move up towards the weeds during daylight you can be rewarded! By the picture you can see the "high flyers" I am sure they were crappies right under the ice, but I couldn't get them to go yet. The aggressive fish shot off the bottom and inhaled my Maki Plastic as fast as I could get it down there! Fun evening! Hmm, I don't know how to put a picture up: Any help? Jim Kusuda
Hi Tony. First, re-size your pictures so they meet the requirements. I generally use a standard 640x480 when posting on forums. Then, click on the fifth image on the top of the post. This opens up a window where you browse your computer for the picture that you want, then double click on it. It will be listed, then you click on the "Add file" and wait until it loads. When listed, repeat and when you have all of the pictures added, click on the "Done adding files". Preview Post to see if it worked. Call me if you want.
Tony Mariotti
Thank you Jim! I had some pics from last night, but instead I snuck out today for a couple of hours and here is the reward/report. Late ice is here in the Lakes area! Made it to a different lake today than last night, and the "high fliers" were active biters. Fishing 17 ft of water off of the weeds and the crappies were hitting their heads on the bottom of the ice! 30" of ice and fish at 48" down! Would have missed them if not paying close attention to the "blips" on my vexilar. Finally!

Jim Kusuda
Wow! This is a great follow up report. That's quite a risk/reward to go to a different lake and have those big ones hit. I'm glad that today you were able to see what the "high fliers" actually were. Nice. Hope that you can enjoy it again as our ice is fading.
