bigblue
I have been fishing the 22 with Tri beam last 2 seasons didn't see any advantage over my FL20 Tri beam . Read a post on here a while back and changed over to the Pro beam what a change I swear I can see a fish fart . Anyone else using this combo ? What are your observations ? Kevan Paul
Pro View is much better in my opinion.
Matt Breuer
Every transducer out there has it's advantages, but I'm a diehard Pro-View guy... I LOVE the big changes on-screen that miniscule changes on the knob make. Fine-tuning your "mark" has never been so easy or intense.
Crappyfisherman
Love the Pro View, only drawback that I find is in shallow water under 10 ft. it has a very narrow cone. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Seems like you can't see fish on the outer edge of the cone. Its like they are just there. Small price to pay. Also didn't know you could not use the Zoom hole hopping on the 22. I thought something was wrong with mine. Called Vexilar and they explained that you have to reset the zoom after moving to another hole. Low Power, adjust gain so I can see my bait green. Lawrence Luoma
I use my FL22 with ProView Ducer in anything greater than 10ft. Once I get into 10 feet and less I switch to my FL20 with the ole dual beam. So I can still zoom to the bottom 6 feet and the wide beam. I like because I can keep it in normal power and still see through the weeds. Does everyone else still use low power in 20 feet and less on their FL22 and Pro View ducer? If I'm understanding who the pro view ducer works by using the lower power and using a little more gain then you are taking advantage of the double beam Tom talks about on his video. Seems to be working for me pretty well this year.
fishwater
I love the fl22 with smurf ducer too, it's got some awesome gain control and clear signal. I wouldn't use LP mode if you can avoid it, the only reason I do is if I can't tune out weeds. When you under power a transducer, the sonar cone integrity is diminished and becomes more of a tube. You can take full advantage of the secondary beam harmonics in regular power mode.
