Charlie Mason
I wrote up a quick article for the paper this morning on just an easy way that I use for backfilling my ice reels to increase gear ratio and get the most bang for my buck when it comes to spooling ice lines. http://www.blogsmonroe.com/fishing/2013/01/how-to-spool-an-ice-fishing-reel/

Charlie Mason
thanks Matt, actually came up with the tape idea two years ago fishing the NAIFC championship in Wisconsin. As I would strip line off my Schooley that two lb test would catch on the backing double uni knot, and eventually it broke on me, adding the electric tape just made so much sense, and the ice line really bites into it too
