Kyle
I'd like some recommendations for good walleye rods and bluegill rods. I see a lot of guys on TV using longer rods, that have very light tips, but with good backbone. Thanks
aaron otto
Hey Kyle, no expert here, but went over to the Thorne Brothers and they hooked me up. They have a wide selection of custom built rods based upon your targeted fish and tactics. Really great guys over there.

Gary Parsons
Hi Kyle, I'm sure that Matt or Dave Genz or one of the Ice Team guys will help with the blue gill recommendations. There are a bunch of good walleye rods out there, but I'd like to chime in about a new line-up that was made especially for walleyes. They are called Walleye Weapons and were designed by the guys from The Next Bite...Kavajecz, Jim Hudson, myself, Maina, and Chase Parsons. There are five fishing models. A 24 in, 28 in, 32 in, 36 in, 40 in model. So everything is covered from use in smaller shacks to outdoor ripping of bigger baits. These are made by Clam, with a very good reel, and are a Bass Pro Exclusive combo. They can be picked up at the northern bass pro stores or you can call one of them and they'll ship. We are trying to get them to offer them for sale on their HSOforum, and you can see them there, but as of now they go through the stores. These rods really rock, and are very, very sensitive! The Jason Mitchell series of walleye rods is also top shelf! Gary Parsons
