Leech lake information please

I am planning a trip to Leech lake this winter and would like some advise. I am looking for pan fish (bluegill,and perch)and walleye.This will be my first time on Leech so I have no idea where to start.I do not want any gps locations just a general area to start and what to expect as far as depth and bottom make up (gravel,muck,rocks)etc.

Also as this will be a long weekend trip any places to stay and or eat are also appreciated.

Paul,

When will you be going to Leech? I can let you know how the bite is and tell you a few starting spots as the ice fishing season gets under way. As far as a place to stay check out Chase on the lake if you are staying in Walker. Bensons is a great place to eat in Walker.

I plan on heading that way as soon as the ice is safe enough for a four wheeler. I'm hoping that will be early to mid December.
