Jarrid Houston
How about reflectors on your snow suits? A lot of suits now have them (like my ice armour), but if they don't, maybe something to think about!
Jarrid Houston
Another safety item to think about. Early ice is upon us and I usually explore with a buddy, safety rope, life jacket. And obviously a good set of spikes n chisel
Scott M
The annual "swap out duck hunting gear with ice fishing gear" evening commenced. I broke out the ice gear last night and was pleasantly surprised to find a whole bag full of jigs new in package that I bought on closeout last year. Got to feel that hoarder's pride again as my jig-fetish endorphins pulsed. I'm working on getting new rods set up and old rods re-lined...lighting the heaters to burn off the stinky dust, repacking the soft-sided tackle box with ice gear (it alternates between winter and summer gear), putting in orders for things wanted or needed like a few more rods or other gear (great to put on the Xmas list if you can wait that long), charging up batteries, running the auger, check out the fish house fabric, stock up the consoles, fish trap organizer, and other storage places how I want them to fish, and start dreaming of ice. motley man
Don't forget to use common sense when going out on early ice! If you don't think it's safe, don't test your luck!
BartmanMN
Just replaced the ice shack with the kids powerwheels on the Racor heavy lift. Fired up the Big Buddy so the line to pancake tank doesn't need to be filled during the first fishing trip. Set up the clam in the garage to get some air on it, then it will be loaded into truck.
