tacklejunkie
The rain we had in October didn’t help mine. I did see a lot of birds and did get a couple on my last day hunting before I hung up the shotgun IceHawk
IceHawk
Slow pockets of birds but the amount of rain we had definitely played a huge part in success. Did shoot and see more Timberdoodles aka woodcock this year than in years past . A great sign The leaves stayed on longer than normal because of the moisture so made shooting conditons tougher. I own a 40 up Near Pine river and the bird numbers where definitely down there.

The difference between any other season and the bird season is I’ll carry my shotgun with me. So because I go every day anyways I did see a good number of birds. There was a lot of Woodcock this year. I don’t shoot them because they are kind of small and when I was younger I shot one and cooked it and did not care for the taste
tacklejunkie
Sounds like they’re drumming pretty hot and heavy I can actually see one in my woods from outside my kitchen window sitting on his log
