Waubay ice

This probably is a dumb question but whats the ice like on waubay? Heading up this weekend and depending on the ice we'll bring the 8X8 plywood (driving out) or the small shappell (hoofin it).

They have been driving out on Waubay before New's year Day. Ice should be over 2 feet thick by now. Was 16 inches New's year weekend.

Nice , thanks for the info guys. Riddle me this though , How does waubay ( and I'm not doubting you guys at all) have a good two feet and blue dog only 6 inches? Thats what the lady said at circle pines when I spoke with her tonight. Maybe some springs in that lake ? gees that hung out longer than they should've ???

With the temperatures barely making it above zero for the last week now, I doubt there is just 6 inches on Blue Dog.

Could be in one certain area of the lake.

I too was fishing the west side of Waubay on Superbowl Sunday. I would say there is at least 2 feet. I estimated at 2 1/2 feet thick. By the time I broke through with a hole, all the fins on the auger were in the ice.

Just curious, how did you guys do on the NW side of the lake? I fished by Grenville this past Sat. and did just fair. Not alot of action but we each managed 7 perch apiece. but it was pretty slow going.

really slow. Finally found the perch about 4:30pm and then it was hot and heavy for about an hour.

Fished Blue Dog the week before Christmas. We were driving vehicles on a foot of ice.
