Blue cats in Yankton?

Recommended Posts

I'd be real interested in knowing a little more about that stretch of the Missouri myself....Maybe just have to wait for summer and go down there on a mission!

I read somewhere that the Iowa state record Blue was caught (and released) farther south at Council Bluffs Iowa. I geuss if the Blues won't swim a little farther north, I could drive a lttle farther south!

I grew up in Vermillion just down river from Yankton. For years the world record blue cat was a 97 pounder caught by Ed Elliot of Vermillion. It was caught just south of town on a cut bait. A picture of this beast was on display in Dick's Barber Shop for years. I know they are still there.
