Tracker Sucks
Last year, we fished the last weekend in March. Launched out of the city camp ground in Chamberlain. We had to dodge floating ice chunks about 100 yards across and had to move ice chunks that blew into the boat ramp but for the most part, river was open. At that time, there were about 50 boats out so it was probably sooner. I think below Big Bend dam, it opens sooner.
cklages
Planning a spring tip to Francis Case by the Camberlin area and was wondering when the ice usually comes off? Thanks Chad
early007
It mostly depends on the weather. I've been out there as early as January 19. But March is a better bet. If you go out early you may have to fish up at Ft Thompson. I usually go out as soon as it is open so I'll keep you posted.Jason Erlandson[This message has been edited by ifishsd (edited 01-05-2004).]
